Ifrane is a mountain town located 65 kilometers south of Fez. Clean and tidy, Ifrane has parks,
lakes and Alpine-style houses, which is why it is known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”.
Created by the French in 1930 as a holiday destination, Ifrane is the place where the wealthiest people in
the country spend their summer. During winter, it is one of the most important ski destinations in Morocco.
In it, we can visit the City Center, the Stone Lion (carved by a German soldier during World War II in honor
of the last lion in the Atlas), Al-Akhawayn University and the exteriors of the Royal Palace.
